About us

My name is Tadashi Miyagawa, and as of April 1st, 2024, I was appointed as CEO & Chairman of the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan (SME SUPPORT JAPAN). We will continue to provide various types of support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) including small businesses such as sole proprietors and SME support organizations.

While the Japanese economy is currently continuing to steadily recover after the COVID-19 pandemic, with increases in domestic consumption and inbound demand, the environment surrounding SMEs is constantly changing. They are facing challenges such as high global prices and severe labor shortages in addition to long-term challenges including the declining birth rate, aging population, rapid technological innovation, increasing environmental restraints, and business succession.

As Japan’s comprehensive SME and regional economic policy implementing body, we will provide thorough support to SMEs nationwide to resolve the various challenges they face and to help them grow.

Specifically, we will play a role in revitalizing the Japanese economy by actively supporting SMEs and startups that are growth-oriented and driving regional growth, as well as providing SMEs nationwide with support to continue their business, strength management capabilities, and respond to the changes in business environment.

In addition, the support provided by SME support organizations is essential in order to thoroughly respond to the challenges faced by SMEs. We will continue to offer assistance to such organizations so that their support can reach as many SMEs as possible throughout Japan.


SME SUPPORT JAPAN will do our utmost to contribute to the development of SMEs and the Japanese economy through our expertise and experience in supporting SMEs, our network, experts, and various support measures that we have established over the years.
